  • Date: August 15th 2022.
  • Perpetrator: The Building Inspector at the Israeli Civil Administration.
  • Victims: Family of citizen Salih Qassoul.

Description:

Monday, August 15th 2022 , the building inspector at the Israeli Civil Administration raided “Khallet Mones” area north Kafr Ad-dik town , the occupation’s bulldozer  carried on demolishing an agricultural room built of zinc with a total area of 24 m2 that belong to citizen Salih Qassoul from Kafr Ad-Dik west Salfit.

The Occupation claims that demolitions are a response of (a punishment) on building without a license in area C – as classified in Oslo accords, the occupation served a notice for the room at the beginning of this year , and despite preparing the legal file , the occupation forces refuse license application.

Affected citizen told LRC the following:

“I support a family of (6) , among them (2) females and (1) child , I depend on  agriculture as a main source of income , and at the beginning of this year I built a room in my plot on a  total area of 12 dunums , in order to use it as a store for agricultural tools , and protecting the land . Noteworthy, colonists raided the area , dismantled the door , destroyed water pipes but we are steadfast at the area in order to protect it in every possible way.

I received a  halt of work notice for my room last February and I started immediately in preparing the legal file and handing it to a human rights organization , but I was shocked that the occupation refused the license application , not because the file was not sufficient but because they don’t want any structures at the area.”

People of Kafr ad-Dik build agricultural room at their lands nearby the colonies to protect them from colonists.

During the past year , the northern area of Kafr Ad-Dik witnessed a large wave of  military notices , that even targeted buildings and agricultural rooms , colonists also escalated wave of assaults at the area.

Kafr Ad-Dik municipality head Mohammed Naji told LRC the following: “This is a serious catastrophe , the occupation demolished buildings and displaces people and take over trees and lands , and this is a danger over the whole town.
