The Occupation Authorities Issued Halt of Work and Demolition Notices in Wad Fukin/ Bethlehem governorate

Description:

Tuesday , May 17th 2022 , the building inspector under the protection of the occupation army raided Wad Fokeen village and served a halt of work notice for citizens: Nasser Ad-Deen Manasra and ‘Issam Manasra , on the pretext of building without a license.

According to notices number “32369” and “32370” state that June 1st 2022 , as the date of the building and organization session in Beit El military court to decide the fate of the structures.

Citizen Faheema Al-Manasra served a final demolition order number “61739” . The notice mentioned that the owner received a halt of work notice in October 12th 2020 , to attend the inspection subcommittee in Beit El military court , and the citizen was given 7 days to halt construction.

Noteworthy, as it is explained in the attached map , Citizen ‘Issam Manasra as it shows in the attached map in Plan number 59/1967 , which declares the area as state property , which received a halt of work order on the pretxt of building without a license to Expand Tzur Hadasa colony , which is illegally built on Wad Foken lands.

Citizen Ilham Manasra from Wad Foken village told LRC:

“Fahema had installed a barn , where her father and mother used to be always working , then after they passed away she came with her children and husband to take care of the plot, and continue her parents legacy , it is her own land , and she should be free to do what she wants.” The owners prepared the necessary papers for a legal file, in order to defend their homes , even though they know very well the injustice of the occupation courts , but they cannot offer any solutions.

About Wad Fukin:

It is located 15 kilometer west of Bethlehem and is surrounded by the borders of 1967 (north and west), Nahhalin and Husan (east), and Jab’a (south).

Wad Fukin has a population of 1168 according to statistics conducted in 2007. It has a total area of 3817 dunums, 161 of which are built-up area.

The Israeli occupation confiscated 299 dunums of Wadi Fukin lands for the sake of two colonies. The first is Har Hadasa which was built in 1978 and devoured 4 dunums while the other is Betar Illit which was built in 1985 and confiscated 295 dunums.

The Apartheid Wall confiscated 402 dunums and isolated 980 dunums in a way that denies people access to their lands. The length of the constructed Wall on Fukin lands is 4,029 meters.

According to Oslo Accords, 7% of Wad Fukin is under Area B (PA is in charge of civil matters with Israel responsible for security) while most of the village lands (93%) is under Area C (Israel maintains full security and administrative control). Here are the area in dunums:
