Mr. Wajeeh ‘Amarna Zibda village council head told LRC:

“Since installing Barta’a checkpoint on parts of Zibda lands, and devouring more lands for the construction of the Annexation and Expansion wall, the occupation is refusing to expand the village built up area, and is consequently forcing citizens out of the area that lacks basic services, all this makes peoples suffering from Israeli blockade unbearable.”

Zibda village is located at the southwest of Jenin city, the village is 23 km away from the city center. And has a total area of 11924 dunums, of which 2360 dunums lay under the Annexation and Expansion Wall.

Since Al-Aqsa uprising in 2000 the occupation is closing the villages southern entrance through cement blocks and prohibit entry and exit.

According to 2017 census, the village has a population of 1260 people from two families: ‘Amarna and Qubha.
