  • Date : January 12th 2021.

Description:

The So Called construction Inspector raided An-Nabi Elyas village east Qalqilya and delivered a halt of work notice for a vehicle repair shop , on the pretext of building without licenses.

Reportedly, the targeted workshop has a total area of 90 m2 built of steel sheets , and belong to Nael Shraim from Qalqilya.

According to the notice number (30556) , the occupation set February 3rd as the third of the subcommittee session in Beit El military court to decide the fate of the structure.

Affected citizen Nael Shraim told LRC :

“In 2020 , I started a vehicle repairing workshop , which cost 80 thousands shekels, noting that I support a family of five , and this is the only source of income for my family , today the workshop was notified.”

Noting that An-NabiElyas like many Palestinian communities, is heavily targeted by the occupation’s arbitrary measurements   that restrict construction. The Occupation prohibits expanding the built up area of the villages , and when a Palestinian builds outside the built up area they become exposed to demolitions, noting that in late 2020 , 39 structures were notified in An-NabiElyas.
