Thursday, April 2nd 2020, The Israeli Occupation authorities issued a halt of work notice on an agricultural room that belongs to Khaleel Al-Asta on the pretext of building without licenses in At-Tayba / east Tarqumiya.
Khaleel’s son told LRC:
“a vehicle related to the building and organization department in the civil administration accompanied by a military vehicle raided At-Tayba , the inspection officer got out of the car , wrote the notice and pasted it on the building then took pictures before withdrawing.”
The delivered notice was numbered (203463) the occupation authorities ordered the immediate stoppage of construction works, and set May 12th 2020 as the date of the subcommittee session in Beit El military court to decide the fate of the structure.
Halt of work notice targets a room belongs to Khaleel Al-Asta
Reportedly, the targeted room has a total area of 40 m2, the owner built it in early 2020 of Bricks and stones to rest in it during working in the plot or to store agricultural tools.
Recently, the Israeli occupation intensified their attacks against facilities and agricultural rooms in At-Tayba , after they devoured vast areas for expansions in “Telem” and “Adora” illegal settlements and for bypass 35, where it is reported that the occupation forces issued 6 halt of work notices on agricultural facilities , 2 final demolition orders , in addition to demolishing three agricultural facilities.

10 km to the west of Hebron city , Tarqumiya is edged by Beit Ula and Beit Kahil villages from the north, Idhna village from the west, Taffuh village from the east and Dura village from the south.
Its population mounts up to 19,311 people (2017 census). Tarqumiya‘s total land area is 22,106 dunums, of which 2,117 dunums are considered the village’s built-up area.
Israeli colonies confiscated 948 dunums from Marda lands. Adora colony that was established in 1982 confiscated 442 dunums from the village. It is now home for 191 colonists.
As for Telem colony, it confiscated 506 dunums from Tarqumiya and is now home for 127 colonists.
The lands of Tarqumiya are classified according to Oslo Accords as the following:
- 8,186 dunums (37%) are classified as area B
- 13,920 dunums (63%) are classified as area C
