Dismantling and confiscating a barracks in Aj-Jiftlik / Jericho governorate

Description:

Monday, The Israeli Occupation forces accompanied by a bulldozer raided “Khallet Allan” area south Aj-Jiftlik , they demolished and confiscated an agricultural barracks with a total area of 120 m2 that belong to citizen Anwar Abu Joudeh from Aj-Jiftlik , on the pretext of building without licenses as the occupation claims, the occupation also ravaged 220 m that surround the barracks.

Reportedly, Thursday April 16, the owner received military notice numbered (10363) which includes dismantling and evicting a barracks within 96 hours, based on law (1797- removal of a new building).

The targeted barracks was set up 3 years ago, in order to use it as a store for building materials, after the occupation demolished another barracks at the same location in 2017, the occupation also confiscated a metal room that belongs to the Anwar Abu Joudeh under claims of using an “Israeli state property”.

It is located 35km to the northern part of Jericho city and is edged by the village of Beit Dajan from the northwest and Massua colony from the west. The village has a population of 3100 people until 2017 and has a total land area of 185031 dunums of which 1110 dunums are built-up area. Noteworthy, the occupation expropriated around 12040 dunums from the village as follows:

  • 3207 dunums were confiscated for the favor of establishing colonies in the nearby.
  • 3328 dunums were confiscated for the bypass roads no. (90, 505, and 508).
  • 5505 dunums were confiscated for the favor of military camps
