The mayor of Beit Liqya, Mahmoud Aasi, told Land Research Center that the town accommodates more than 40 agricultural, residential and industrial structures notified of either stop-work or demolition on the claim of "unlicensed construction".

Aasi also said that the total area of the town's master plan (1333 dunums ) is insufficient for demographic expansion. This forced people to build without permits in areas classified as "C" according to Oslo Accords, which are fully controlled by the Israeli occupation.

Liqya populates 9664 people on a total land area of 16,000 dunums, of which 4000 dunums were confiscated for the favor of building the apartheid wall. (Liqya's village council).
