Stop-Work order on a ”clan gathering place” in the Hebron village of Fuqeiqis

Details:

 Israeli Occupation Forces served on November 13, 2016 a stop-work order on a structure in Fuqeiqis village, west Dura town of Hebron governorate.

Citizen Taha Abu Sharar said that a vehicle relative to Israel Civil Administration raided the area at noon and issued a stop-work order on the "clan's gathering place" on the claim of unlicensed construction. Photos of the structure were taken by the occupation as a proof.

The order no. (161203) requested immediate halt on all construction works. It assigned December 04, 2016 as the hearing session of the Inspection Sub-Committee of Israel Civil Administration in the Israeli court of Beit El colony to consider whether to demolish the structure or restore its previous status.

The target structure is planned to be a gathering place for the clan of Abu Sharar. The structure is still under construction; it is still in the foundation phase. The gathering place is planned to be of 360m2 in area and expected to serve 400 members of the clan.

In the same time Israeli authorities notify Palestinians of demolition and stop-work in the area, Negohot colony that is founded on confiscated lands from Fuqeiqis village is witnessing continuous expansion from its western and northern sides at the expense of Palestinian lands.

At the legal level, the team of field research at Land Research Center guided the affected people to the methods of preparing a legal file to be used in the objection to military orders.

About Fuqeiqis:

Located to the west of Dura town in Hebron governorate, the village populates 1000 people, most of whom are employed.

It should be marked that Negohot colony is located on confiscated lands from the village. Colonists residences are few meters away from the houses of villagers. Thus, the area witness many colonists' attacks and violations every now and then.
