Stop-Work and demolition orders on structures in Hebron governorate

Details:

The Israeli occupation authorities served on February 14, 2016  stop-work and demolition  orders on residences in the area of Al-Buq'a, east Hebron city.

  1. The Stop-Work order:

The Israeli occupation authorities served citizen Hani Jaber a stop-work order on his house in the eastern side of the Al-Buq'a area. It is reported that a vehicle relative to Israel Civil Administration and an army patrol raided the area, hanged the order the targeted house and took some photos of it before they had left.

The order compelled the owner to halt all construction works on the claim that the structure was built without proper permit. March 06, 2016 was assigned as the hearing session of the Inspection Sub-Committee in the Israeli court of Beit El to consider the legal status of the notified structure.

After he received the order, citizen Jaber prepared a legal file to apply for a building permit in Israel Civil Administration. Also, the citizen sought Saint Yves organization to object to the order in Israeli courts.

The targeted house is of 145m2 in area and is a second floor house. Hani's ten member family including 8 children was supposed to live in the house after getting their 150m2 house demolished on May 27, 2007.

  1. The demolition order

Israeli occupation authorities notified the residence of Nimr Jaber of demolition on the claim of "unlicensed construction". The order gave the affected a seven day deadline to whether demolish the structure or restore its previous status.

It should be marked that the Israeli occupation authorities served on December 28, 2015 a stop-work and construction order on the residence of citizen Nimir Jaber in the area of Al-Buq'a, east Hebron city.

The citizen hurried to apply for a building permit but the occupation authorities stalled the process until a demolition order was finally served on the residence. Despite all that, Nimr prepared a legal file to defend his case and sought Saint Yves organization to object to the order in Israeli courts.

The targeted 183m2 house is reported to be under construction. Works on the house started on December 2015. The residence was supposed to be home for three members including a young girl.

It should be also marked that the targeted area is edged by the colony of Kharsine that is located on some of Jaber's lands from the west and the colony of Kiryat Arbaa from the south. Noteworthy, Kharsine colony is witnessing new ravaging acts and lands rehabilitation activities as part of an expansionist plan.
